Funeral for Estelle “Granny” Meares, 96, of Priceville was Saturday, Dec. 27, at 11 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Raymond Bush officiating.
Burial was in Grange Hall Cemetery.
Mrs. Meares died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, at a daughter’s residence.
She is survived by three sons, Wayne Meares of Moulton, Jimmy Meares of Somerville and Gary Meares of Fort Mitchell; seven daughters, Lellyan Davis of Hartselle, Martha Miller of Holden, La., Edith Terry of Lacey’s Spring, Linda Peterson of Priceville, Connie Wilbanks of Lilburn, Ga. and Vicki Whisenant of Morgan City; 39 grandchildren; 87 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Brian Meares, Torrie Blankenship, TyWhisenant, Jody Whisenant, Tim Davis, Matthew Meares, Vincent Peterson and Chuck Terry.
