Brewer, Hartselle split games

Hartselle senior Ethan Hamilton won three matches in the Raptor Invitational last Saturday before retiring with an injury default.
Hamilton finished the tournament with two pins in four matches.
Hartselle finished 17th in the team standings with 11.5 points. The Tigers were the top team from Alabama in the tournament.
Kyle Davis was 1-2 at 130 pounds, while David Filiatrault went 1-3 at 189.
After receiving a first-round bye, Davis recorded a technical fall over Arlington’s Andrew Sossamon.
Davis dropped to the consolation bracket with a 10-7 loss to Hunter Lane’s Jouse’ Brown before being eliminated after being pinned by Cleveland, Tenn. wrestler Dre Moore.
Filiatrault was knocked into the consolation bracket after a bye and a loss in the first two rounds. He beat Bartlett’s Nathan Yount 6-4 before falling to Hunter Lane’s Jarrell Hyde 3-2.
Two other Hartselle wrestlers finished with pins in the tournament. Zach Hill had a pin in the 145-pound weight class, while Devin Malone added a pin at 152.
Both Hill and Malone finished 1-2 in the tournament.
Hamilton opened the tournament with an 11-4 loss to Gavin Agnew of Caldwell County, then reeled off three more victories before withdrawing.
He also had pins against Jared Beaudry of Cordova, Tenn., and Tullahoma’s Anthony Lemon.
He advanced in the tournament with a 12-3 victory over Jessie Jones of Cleveland, Tenn.
Also competing in the tournament for the Tigers was Alan Durham and Chad Hampton.
