Funeral for Joe Bond Ransom, 71, of Somerville will be Thursday (today), Jan. 8, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Gunter officiating.
Burial will be in Somerville Cemetery.
Mr. Ransom died Mon., Jan. 5, 2009, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Dec. 25, 1937, in Morgan County to Fred Smart Ransom and Lillian Johnson Ransom. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Ransom and three sisters, Ruth Young, Sue Wilson and Peggy Brewington.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Ransom of Somerville; a son, Joe Fred Ransom of Florida; a daughter, Connie Lawson of Florida; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family members and lifelong friends.
