A graveside service for Lucy D. Slagle, 90, of Hartselle, formerly of Elizabethton, Tenn., was Friday, Jan. 2, at 1 p.m. at Happy Valley Memorial Park in Elizabethton with Tetrick Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Slagle died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, at Hartselle Medical Center. A native of Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late William Herbert and Myrtle DeBoice Range Shell. She formerly worked for the State of Alabama at the Lurleen B. Wallace Developmental Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Paul “Jimmy” Slagle.
She is survived by two daughters, Jimelle Reeves and husband Hillard of Falkville and Deedi Norwood of Hartselle; two sons, Joe Slagle and wife Debra of Hartselle and Paul Slagle of Bristol, Tenn; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
