CERT training offered to community

The Volunteer Center of Morgan County and Morgan County Emergency Management Agency is offering free CERT (Community Emergency Response Training) for Morgan County residents.
Training sessions are scheduled to begin Feb. 7, Feb. 21 and March 7. Sessions will be held at Hospice of The Valley located at 240 SE Johnston St., Decatur, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The final simulation drill/graduation will be on March 21 at 5 p.m. at the Decatur Fire and Rescue Traning Centerl located at 4119 Old Highway 31 SW Decatur.
CERT is a positive and realistic approach to emergency and disaster situations where citizens may initially be on their own and their actions can make a difference. In CERT training, citizens learn to:
