Funeral for Emmett Virgil Harris, 63, of Eva was Friday, Jan. 9, at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. View Baptist Church with the Rev. Dewayne Harper officiating.
Burial was in Oden Ridge Cemetery with Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Harris died Wed., Jan. 7, 2009, at his residence. He was born Nov. 16, 1945, in Morgan County to Virgil Leldon Harris and Bertha Lucille Roy Harris. He was a member of the Church of the Living God. He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-granddaughter, Alana.
His is survived by his wife, Berma Jean Harris of Eva; three sons, Virgil Dale Harris and wife Kathy of Falkville, Timothy Wayne Harris Sr. and wife April of Eva and David Leon Harris and wife Michelle of Huntsville; a daughter, Tammy Jean Niles and husband James of Eva; a brother, Billy Wayne Harris of Cullman; four sisters, Faye Hogan of Cabot, Ark., Ann Stone of Hartselle, Patsy Henderson of Cullman and Helen Scott of Somerville; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Timothy Harris, Jr., Joseph Harris, D.J. Harris, Anthony Harris, William Harris and Dalton Absher.
