A cookbook titled “Rockin’ Recipes” is now being promoted by Crestline Elementary School’s PTO as part of the school’s 50th anniversary observance. Pre-sold copies were distributed prior to the Christmas holidays and are now available at the school office for $12 per copy.
The cookbook is compiled of recipes contributed by current students, staff members and former Crestline teachers and employees.
Working on the cookbook has been a long process.
“We decided to do the cookbook not so much as a fundraiser but as a means of promoting the observance of our 50th anniversary. So far the response has been very positive.”
The cookbook also contains artwork by Crestline students. Emma Bennich, a second grader, designed the cover and a student from each grade was chosen to contribute artwork for category dividers. Household hints are also included. These include instructions for cooking the perfect cookie as well as measurement substitutions and tips on buying fresh fruits and vegetables.
