Reynolds captures title

A rendition of “My Girl” won Matt Reynolds the title of Hartselle’s Relay Idol recently.
Members of Hartselle’s Relay for Life committee organized a fundraiser to raise money for Relay for Life.
The contest brought in more than $1,600 for Relay.
Reynolds was one of 10 contestants in the contest, which was emceed by Jeff Lemmond of Hartselle.
In the first round, audience members voted on their favorite contestants by making monetary donations. The top three contestants that raised the most money went on to the second round. That round was judged by a panel from Decatur.
In addition to Reynolds, the other top three were Brewer High School student Caitlyn Frye, and Lindsay Kirby of Hartselle.
Reynolds will perform at the Hartselle Relay for Life event, planned for April 24-25 from 6 p.m.-6 a.m.
