Lady Tigers dump Cullman

Sub-freezing temperatures and a bone-chilling north wind didn’t stop Hartselle from generating some heat with their bats and pitching as they subdued Cullman 8-4 Monday.
The win lifted Hartselle to a 6-1 record.
Trailing 0-1 after two innings, the Lady Tigers grabbed the lead on the strength of a two-run rally in the top of the third and added two runs in the fourth to take a 4-1 lead. The Lady Bearcats bounced back in the bottom of the fourth by scoring three runs to tie the game at 4-4. Hartselle pulled away for good with a single run in the sixth and three more in the seventh.
Brittney Kerr was credited with the win but needed relief help from Meaghan Gray. Kerr went five innings allowing four runs on five hits while striking out three. Gray pitched the final two innings. She allowed no runs on one hit while striking out five. She also had an RBI single.
The Lady Tigers racked up eight hits and also benefited from five Cullman errors and two walks. Alex Paulsen knocked in a pair of runs with a double, Audrey McClanahan had a pair of singles, Ashley Bonner drove in a run with a single and Hayden Watts, Anna Hall and Chandler Orr each had a single.
Hartselle 1, Priceville 0
Hartselle scored a run in the bottom of the sixth inning to defeat Priceville 1-0 last Thursday.
Kimmie Minor drove in the winning run with a single after Audrey McClanahan singled and Anna Hall moved her into scoring position with a sacrifice bunt.
Breanna Riley was credited with the win. She allowed only two hits while striking out 11 and walking two. Meaghan Bond was tagged with the loss. She allowed one run on four hits while striking out three and walking one.
Minor had another single in the second and Hall doubled in the fourth. Bond and Ashlee Beggs each singled for the Lady Bulldogs
