Locked vehicles target of thieves

Investigators with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office are looking for the thief or thieves who stole valuables from five locked motor vehicles in Hartselle last week.
Chief Deputy Sheriff Mike Corley said the thefts occurred in the Rolling Meadows Subdivision sometime between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. on Feb. 23. Items taken included $3,700 in cash, handgun ammunition, range bag, mobile phone and cell phone.
The investigation is ongoing and reports of any unusual activity seen in the area during the time of the thefts are welcome. The Sheriff’s Office may be reached by phone at 351-4800.
