Funeral for Valerie Sue Holmes, 50, of Alabaster was Wednesday, March 4, at 4 p.m. at Falkville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Melvin Hunter and David Currie officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Falkville City Cemetery.
Ms. Holmes died Monday, March 2, 2009 at Shelby Ridge Nursing Home. She was born November 21, 1958, in Mobile County to Paul William Holmes and Fredovia Jane Brown Holmes. She was a Baptist and was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, George Holmes, Cora Lee Holmes, Cleveland Brown, Elsie Brown and Nell Brown.
She is survived by a sister, Vicki D. Price of Montevallo; two special sisters, Wendi C. Jones of Montevallo and Mary Dubose of Santa Fe, New Mexico; a brother-in-law, Tony Price; and two nieces, Kelly L. Price and Kayla Rose Price, both of Montevallo.
Pallbearers were family members.
