Funeral for William Landers Glasgow Sr., 68, of Decatur was Friday, Feb. 27, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Scotty Hogan and Larry Dillard officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mr. Glasgow died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at his residence. He was born May 27, 1940, in Morgan County to Luther Otto Glasgow and Ida Eudelle Landers Glasgow. He was a devoted Christian husband, father and grandfather, a member of Westmeade Baptist Church and a retired employee of 3M in Decatur after 35 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two children, Melissa Jane Glasgow and Roy Sims Glasgow.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Elizabeth Dean Glasgow of Decatur; a son, William Landers Glasgow Jr. of Decatur; three daughters, Dawn Glasgow Cowley, Lori Glasgow Courtney and Datie Richelle Glasgow, all of Decatur; a brother, Rev. Fred O. Glasgow Sr. of Decatur; two sisters, Mary Louis Hobbs and Judy Eudelle Spain, both of Decatur; and five grandchildren, Allie Cowley, Melissa Cowley, Kit Copeland, Kara Copeland and Jacob Glasgow.
Pallbearers were William Glasgow Jr., Billy Johnson, Fred Glasgow Jr., Harold Cowley, Kevin Courtney, Thomas Watson and Kit Copeland.
