Tigers torrid on trip

Hartselle wrapped up a weekend trip to South Alabama with four wins in five games.
The Tigers improved to 12-4 overall after winning all three of their games on Saturday at two different fields.
Hartselle returns to action Saturday with games against Southside and Etowah at Etowah High School. The Tigers will then play in the Hoover Invitational March 14-19.
Hartselle 13, Robertsdale 5
Hartselle got plenty of offensive support in the win over Robertsdale with several key hits.
Luke Bole hit a 2-run homer in the fourth inning, while Ryan Joy added three hits, scored four runs and had three RBIs for the Tigers. Zack Waddell went 3-for-3 at the plate with an RBI. He also scored twice.
Hayden McCaghren scattered four hits over four innings to get the victory.
Hartselle 11, Fairhope 10
Josh Doyle’s grand slam in the fourth inning helped send Hartselle to an 11-10 victory over Fairhope.
Doyle finished with two hits for the Tigers.
Luke Bole also homered in the win, while Zack Waddell and Walton Ashwander both drove in a pair of runs for the Tigers.
Taylor Nelson added two hits and scored twice for Hartselle.
Bole struck out five in 4.2 innings of work. Chad Girodo pitched the final two innings to gain the save.
Fairhope dropped to 10-4 with the loss.
Hartselle 6, Faith 1
Garrett Turrentine threw a six-hitter as Hartselle beat Faith 6-1.
Turrentine finished with 10 strikeouts in the win.
Luke Bole led the Tigers’ offensive attack with a two-run double. He finished with two hits.
Taylor Nelson added a pair of hits, including a double.
Daphne 5, Hartselle 1
Josh Doyle and Taylor Nelson had two hits each in Hartselle’s lone loss of the weekend trip.
Hartselle had just seven hits in the loss. Daphne’s Brandon Peterson struck out six in seven innings of work.
Josh Doyle took the loss despite allowing just two earned runs. He finished with five strikeouts in six innings.
Hartselle 10, Spanish Fort 1
Chad Girodo got Hartselle’s trip to south Alabama off to a strong start with a 10-1 win over Spanish Fort.
Girodo struck out eight in five innings of work to earn the win.
Zack Waddell and Luke Bole both had three hits in the win with two runs each. Josh Doyle added a pair of hits.
