Funeral for Eva Shelton McMinemon, 93, of Somerville was Monday, April 6, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with chaplain Rich Thompson officiating.
Burial was in Shiloh Cemetery.
Mrs. McMinemon died Saturday, April 4, 2009, at her residence. She was born April 14, 1915, in Lawrence County to Emitt E. Shelton and Beulah Gillispe Shelton. She was a charter member and oldest living member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Somerville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred McMinemon; two daughters, Joy McMinemon Sharp and Frankie Carol McMinemon; four brothers, Lowell, Orville, Everett and Nobel Shelton; and a sister, Eula Stroup.
She is survived by three sons, Mickey McMinemon and wife Linda, Bill McMinemon and wife Sandra and McCoy McMinemon; three daughters, JoAnn McCaghren and husband Charles, June Moody and husband Jimmy and Jean Kimbrough; a brother, Martin Shelton; three sisters, Mildred Gray, Violet Heaps and Madelyn Terry; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and a son-in-law, Ferrell Sharp.
Pallbearers were grandsons.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
The family would like to thank Susan Brasher and all the staff at Hospice for all the love and care shown to their mother. A special thanks to Miranda Henry, her granddaughter and Sheila Ruble who cared for her daily and Karen McClevey and Christy Pate.
