Three applicants are seeking the Hartselle City School Board position being vacated by Dr. Andy Dukes.
Kevin Holder, Anita Buckley and former board member Dr. James Joy turned in applications before the April 3 deadline. The council will hold interviews April 13 and will set a date to vote on the matter at that time.
Holder, president of the Dixie Youth Softball Board, lives at Lake South Court. Holder, who has two children attending Hartselle schools, said he wants to be a part of the school board to help make “the city stand out above all the others around us.”
Buckley lives on Barclift Street. She is the former state director for K-12 curriculum for the Alabama Board of Education and was an applicant for the superintendent position. She is a former classroom teacher and school administrator.
Dr. Joy has two children attending Hartselle schools and lives on Danielle Drive. He said he would like to serve again on the board would do so in an “unbiased manner to promote and help our school system and children.”
