Archives receives preservation grant

The Morgan County Archives will receive a grant to help with its efforts to preserve historical documents.
The archives is receiving the maximum award, $3,000, from the Alabama Historical Records Advistory Board.
It was one of 22 agencies chosen through a grant application process.
The money will be used to provide shelving, archival containers, and a database index for historical estate case files. These records, which date back to 1825, offer a wealth of historical and genealogical information on early Morgan County.
