Funeral for Dorothy Faye Copeland James, 54, of Falkville, was Wednesday, April 15, at 2:30 p.m. at Faith Independent Church with the Rev. Steve Rodgers officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Bell Springs Cemetery in Falkville.
Mrs. James died Sunday, April 12, 2009, at her residence.
She was born January 31, 1955, in Morgan County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Burtis James Jr.; two sons, Monroe Jackson Mears and William Arrie Mears; her father, Arrie Lee Copeland; and a sister, Mary Ruby Graves.
She is survived by two daughters, Sara Mears and Ruby Ochoa and husband Pedro, all of Falkville; her mother, Ruby Elzadie Copeland Lawson of Falkville; two brothers, Herbert Jackson Copeland and family of Town Creek and L.C. Copeland and family of Falkville; four sisters, Clamity Jane Ochoa and family of Falkville, Margie Mears and family of Littleville, Margarett Lane and family of Russellville and Joann Scott and family of Hackleburg; and two grandsons, Christopher and Shannon.
Pallbearers were Jerry Copeland, Chris Mears, Wayne Scott, Eddie Scott, Kevin Scott, Alton Kilpatrick and Christopher Taylor.
