A graveside service for Dorothy Harper Massey, 66, of Falkville was Wed-nesday, April 22, at 11 a.m. at Falkville City Cem-etery with Bro. Charles Minyard officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Massey died Sunday, April 18, 2009, at her residence. She was born January 13, 1943, in Florida to Johnny Harper and Beatrice Stephens Harper. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Junior, Albert, Edward and Thomas; and a sister, Betty Sue Powell.
She is survived by two sons, Arthur F. Massey Jr. and Thomas J. Massey and wife Jamie, all of Falkville; three daughters, Glenda Sue Massey and husband Rodger and Mona Kay Massey and husband Mark, all of Falkville and Carlene M. Moomaw and husband Robbie of Florence; five sisters, Elizabeth Burney of Cullman, Margaret Moody and Geneva Hardee, both of Homerville, Ga., Evelyn Taylor of Nashville, Ga. and Barbara Ann Harper of Douglas, Ga.; three brothers, Glenn Harper of Homerville, Ga., Billy Harper of Waycross, Ga. and Jimmy Harper of Douglas, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Haley Dakota and husband Pat, Tara, Gavin, Chanda and husband Troy, Sherone and wife Tosha and Austin Ray; a host of nieces and nephews; and good friends and family.
Pallbearers were Rodger Hollaway, Patrick Foster, Chris Warnick, Robbie Moomaw, Howard Roberson and Adam Ray.
Honorary pallbearers were Frank Dean Massey, Billy Joe Norris, Torey Cottingham and Billy Don Berryman.
