Funeral for Ila Moore Gibson, 93, of Hartselle was Friday, May 8, at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Hartselle with the Revs. Harold Thompson and Robert Sparkman officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mrs. Gibson died Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at her residence. She was born March 30, 1916, in Jackson County to Robert Nathan Moore and Lula Cora Carter Moore. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hartselle. She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. “Buck” Gibson; a daughter, Maxye Carolyn Anders; two brothers, Josh Moore and Roy Moore; and three sisters, Mary Reeves, Sue Drinkard and Cora Lewis.
She is survived by a daughter, Joy Sue Groover and husband Joe of Hartselle; a son-in-law, Larry Anders of Sheffield; five grandchildren, Stephanie Anders, Corey Anders, Jennifer Anders, Mike Groover and wife Sonya, Suzanne Baucom and husband Tim; and three great-grandchildren, Baylee Baucom, William Baucom and John Michael Groover.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Moore, Bob Moore, Robert Drinkard, Skip Drinkard, Bill Lewis and George Nancaro.
Honorary pallbearers were Ed Pruitt, Bobby Gann and A.C. Greenhill.
