Funeral for Roy Wayne Stinson, 70, of Hartselle was Saturday, May 9, at 12 p.m. at Fairview Church of God with Dr. Milan Dekich and the Rev. Glenn Smallwood officiating and Peck Funral Home directing.
Mr. Stinson died Thursday, May 7, 2009, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born June 8, 1938, to Howard Walter Stinson and Irene Morris Stinson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. He was a good Christian man. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by two sons, Timothy Wayne Stinson and wife Kelli and Travis Dewayne Stinson and wife Christy, all of Hartselle; two daughters, Tonya Mayer and husband Terry of Falkville and Tina Bader of Danville; two brothers, Jimmy Stinson of Somerville and Jake Stinson of Falkville; two sisters, Elaine Smith of Hartselle and Madilene Payne of Falkville; six grandchildren, Ashlie Mayer, Trevor Mayer, Chandler Stinson, Anna Stinson, Zane Stinson and Meagan Watson; and a great-grandchild, C.J. Watson.
Pallbearers were Jeff Adkins, Craig Stinson, Michael Stinson, Pat Fitzgerald, Marcus Woodall and Tim Stinson.
