Funeral for Gerald Dwain Reynolds, 70, of Hartselle, was Thursday (today), May 28, at 11 a.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry C. Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery with full military honors provided by CSMS #2 from Cullman.
Mr. Reynolds died Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born June 28, 1938, in Cullman County to Leroy Reynolds and Ruth Millican Reynolds. He taught school at Brewer High School for 12 years. He retired from the military and Civil Service after 26 years where he served in the U.S. Air Force and Army National Guard as a Master Sergeant. He was a member of First Christian Church where he was an elder. He was president of the Alabama ACT union and the national vice-president of the ACT union. He coached Minnie Midget football in the 1970’s and Hartselle Dixie Girl’s softball for many years. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Reynolds.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Reynolds of Hartselle; two sons, Jerry Reynolds and wife Janet and Tony Reynolds and wife Connie, all of Hartselle; a daughter, Amanda Hardigree and husband Don of Hartselle; a brother, Robert Reynolds and wife Judy of Floral City, Fla.; three sisters, Jeanette Graul and husband Robert of Athens and Dixie Craft and husband Toby and Gerri Tolonei, all of Huntsville; eight grandchildren, David Reynolds, Richard Hardigree, Jeremy Reynolds and wife Amy, Amy Hardigree, Sandie Davis and husband Scottie, Brandon Reynolds, Leslie Reynolds and Trenton Reynolds; three great-grandchildren, Amber Davis, Katlyn Reynolds and Matthew Davis.
Pallbearers will be Keith Clark Jr, Kevin Wallace, Jeremy Reynolds, Brandon Reynolds, Scottie Davis and Trenton Davis.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Men’s Sunday school class at First Christian Church.
