Funeral for Doris Lee Rowe Seip, 81, of Miami, Fla., formerly of Falkville, was Monday, June 8, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Ray Halbrooks officiating.
Burial was in Falkville City Cemetery.
Mrs. Seip died Wednesday, June 3, 2009, in Miami, Fla., surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with colon cancer. She was born August 29, 1927, in Falkville to Powell C. Rowe and Brenda Smith Rowe. She had a smile of sunshine and her gentle and caring spirit brought joy to all. She was always thinking of others. It was not uncommon for her to whip up her famous oatmeal raisin cookies or a variety of other baked goods. A lover of animals, she lived with her cats and a Rottweiler, “Molly”.
She cherished her time with her grandchildren, Angelika and James Bartek. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Seip; and two brothers, John Rowe and Max Rowe.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Cindy Seip and husband Albert of Miami; a sister, Jean Tankersley of Hartselle; and many cousins and friends.
Pallbearers were family and friends.
