The Crow family and friends of Hartselle have reached the halfway point in their efforts to raise $10,000 to establish a college scholarship in honor of the late Joe Mack Crow. Now their hope is that a silent auction and musical concert will push their efforts over the top.
The Joe Mack Crow Concert and Silent Auction Scholarship Fundraiser will be staged at Sparkman Civic Center June 20 with the auction taking place from 5 – 6 p.m. and the concert from 5:30 – 11 p.m.
The family’s goal is to have the scholarship in place in 2010. It will be used to help finance the education of a Hartselle High School graduate whose desire is to pursue a career in the fine arts.
Joe Mack was a graduate of Hartselle High School who served four years in the U. S., Marine Corps. He was killed in an automobile accident on Father’s Day in 2007 at the age of 30.
Featured performers at the concert will include Bishop Black, the Todd Stovall Band, Shawna’s P and Earth Funk Tribe, Shaun Ferguson, Bo Hembree, Tammy Lee and Lacey Atchison, family &friends. Admission will be $5 at the door.
