Funeral for S/Sgt. Jeffrey A. Hall, 28, was Tues-day, June 8, at 11 a.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home Chapel in Huntsville.
Burial with full military honors was in Maple Hill Cemetery.
The Army Ranger was killed June 1 when an improvised explosive device exploded next to his vehicle in the Nerkh district of Afghanistan.
Hall was a native and resident of Huntsville until his enlistment in the U.S. Army in 2000. He attended Grace Lutheran School, Grissom High School and Huntsville Christian Academy. Some of his achievements in the Army included Airborne, Ranger and Jumpmaster training. He served with the 5th Ranger Training Battalion at Camp Merrill, Ga. and was serving with the 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y. at the time of his death.
He was decorated with two Army Commendation Medals, two Army Achievement Medals, Ranger Tab, Combat Infantryman Badge, Parachutist and Senior Parachutist Badges, and numerous Foreign Campaign Medals. He was also awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star, posthumously.
He is survived by his wife, Allison Hall, one-year-old daughter, Audrey Faith Hall; his parents, Charles and Annette Hall; a sister, Emily Pruitt and husband Josh, all of Hartselle. Other survivors include his “Pal”, Charles Baites Jr., of Toney; six uncles, Bill Cox, Fred Hall and Winston Hall, all of Huntsville, Bailey Hall of Toney, Eddie Hall of Kelso, Tenn. and Mike Cox of Knoxville, Tenn.; an aunt, Anna Hall of Good Hope; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Kerry and Allan Ramorini of Angels Camp, Calif; and special friends, Brian McIntosh and Mark Sturges.
A memorial fund has been established for Hall’s wife and daughter. Those wishing to contribute may do so at Redstone Federal Credit Union to the fund entitled “SSG Jeffrey Alan Hall Memorial Fund.”
