A graveside service for Timothy Eugene Ikner, 34, of Hartselle, was Thurs-day, June 4, at 11 a.m. at Johnson Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Miller officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Ikner died Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at his residence. He was born October 30, 1974, in Morgan County. He was a 1993 graduate of Hartselle High School. He attended Wallace State for two years and then transferred to Calhoun Community College where he earned his Registered Nursing Degree. He was a Phi Theta Kappa, was selected the 35th Most Outstanding Student in Anatomy &Physiology and was named third runner-up for “Mr. Calhoun” in 2005-2006. He was a true friend to the Auburn Tigers, they were his team. Win or lose, it was always “War Eagle.” He had been a member of West Hartselle Baptist Church since the age of five. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Eugene Ikner.
He is survived by his parents, Eugene and Freda Ikner of Hartselle; and four sisters, Nancy Ikner and husband Bobby of Priceville, Brenda Ikner Hall and husband Preston Jr and Amy Ikner Hatfield, all of Hartselle and Clarise Ikner Byers and husband Butch of Moulton.
Pallbearers were Brandon Chaney, Nicholas Chaney, Zac Hatfield, Cody Hatfield, Jeff Harden and Derek Parker.
