Meth lab discovered in Eva

Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputies responding to a harassment call uncovered a methamphetamine lab in Eva.
According to Sheriff Greg Bartlett, deputies responded to a harassment call at 730 Pentecost Road in Eva June 17. Deputies found evidence of a meth lab in the home. Homeowner Dustin Earl Whisenant was arrested for unlawful manufacturing in the first degree. Also arrested at the scene were Isaac Daniel Bright, Larry Finis Hatley, and Amy Easterwood Hatley, who were all charged with unlawful manufacturing first degree. Jonathan Alan Barber and Charles Lewis Keeton II were also at the residence and charged with loitering in a drug house. Whisenant, Bright and the Hatleys are all being held in the Morgan County Detention Facility, each on a $5000 bond. Barber and Keeton are also being held under $300 bond each.
Whisenant could also face additional charges in connection with an owl found hanging from a tree on the back of his property. The birds are protected under federal law and the U.S. Game and Fish Department were notified.
