Hartselle teams win district titles

Two Hartselle youth softball teams earned state tournament berths after winning district titles Monday night.
The Hartselle Ponytails defeated Underwood 9-8 in seven innings in the district final, finishing the district tournament with a 3-1 record.
Hartselle beat Underwood in the district opener 3-1 and added a 19-0 win over Colbert Heights. After suffering a 4-2 loss to Underwood, the Hartselle team came back to win the championship.
Hartselle Darlings went undefeated in their district tournament after outscoring opponents 39-12 in three games.
Hartselle beat Rogersville 13-8 in the championship game Monday to earn a spot in the state tournament in Scottsboro begininng July 17.
Hartselle beat Brooks 14-2 and Rogersville 12-2 to reach the championship game.
Rogersville came out of the loser’s bracket to earn a second shot at Hartselle. But the Hartselle Darlings scored 13 runs in the final to wrap up the tournament.
