Pro's visit marks Quail Creek anniversary

A red-letter event in the 16-year history of Quail Creek Golf Resort will take place July 9-10 when former PGA Golf Pro Wally Armstrong pays a visit to conduct two golf clinics and speak at a prayer breakfast.
Armstrong will share his experience of competing in more than 300 PGA golf tournaments by putting on a clinic for young golfers attending the second of two Junior Golf Camps on July 9 and will speak and conduct another clinic for Pro-Am Day on July 10.
Armstrong finished among the top 10 golfers in 30 PGA tournaments and finished fifth in a Masters Tournament. He is also co-author with Ken Blanchard of a popular book on golf, “The Mulligan.” He will autograph copies of the book for those attending the Pastor-Pro Appreciation Day.
Nail’s career as a golf entrepreneur had an unexpected beginning.
Thus, a Quail Creek partnership was formed between Eyster, a Decatur attorney and land developer, and Nail, an ordained minister. For the next seven years they worked together as a team to grow the business from an 18-hole golf course to a golf resort complete with conference center, wedding chapel and church and 14-unit motel. Nail assumed sole ownership in 2000.
