Hartselle wins title

MUSCLE SHOALS - Hartselle pitchers Brady Wallace, Zane Hamlett and Tillman Landers combined to pitch a perfect game in a 15-0 rout of Muscle Shoals in the Dixie Junior Boys’ District I championship Friday at the Muscle Shoals Sportsplex.
With the win, Hartselle advanced to the state tournament in Dothan beginning July 17.
Wallace, Hamlett and Landers struck out eight in the perfect game against Muscle Shoals.
Hartselle outscored its opponents 52-4 in the tournament.
Timbo Slaton, Hamlett, Tanner Oakes and Landers all had doubles in the win, while Dakota Youngblood, Trey Jones, Alston Howard, Jorden Robinson and Phillip Summerford added singles.
Hartselle 14, Muscle Shoals 0
The Hartselle team opened the tournament with a 14-0 victory over Muscle Shoals as Trey Jones threw a two-hitter.
Timbo Slaton led the Tigers at the plate with three doubles and three RBIs. Tillman Landers and Tanner Oakes added two hits each for Hartselle.
Jorden Robinson, Adam Keenum, Dakota Youngblood, Phillip Summerford, Danny Conley and Connor Shelton all chipped in with hits for Hartselle.
Hartselle 23, Decatur 4
Alston Howard earned the win for Hartselle with three innings of work.
Jorden Robinson and Tillman Landers pitched one shutout inning each for the Hartselle team.
Hartselle had five triples and four doubles in the win, with Robinson and Slaton finishing with two triples each. Connor Shelton also had a triple, while Robinson, Slaton, Landers and Dakota Youngblood all picked up doubles for Hartselle.
Zane Hamlett, Brady Wallace, Phillip Summerford and Tanner Oakes also had hits for Hartselle.
Adam Keenum had a sacrifice fly and finished with four RBIs.
