Jewel Dean ‘Blondie’ Gardner

Funeral for Jewel Dean “Blondie” Gardner, 61, of Vinemont, was Sunday, July 5, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Shaddix officiating.
Burial was in Piney Grove Cemetery in Falkville.
Mrs. Gardner died Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at her residence. She was born December 8, 1947, in Morgan County to Ernest Steele and Susie Hunter Steele. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ernest “Shorty” Steele and Leldon “Pop” Steele; and two sisters, Dorthy “Dot” Harris and Immogene Johnson.
She is survived by a son, Tony Lee Garmon of Hartselle; three daughters, Theresa Ann (Garmon) Atkins of Vinemont, Connie Sue (Garmon) Wood of Cullman and Lisa Sherrell Garmon of Hartselle; three brothers, Homer “Peanut” Steele of Oklahoma, Sherman “Dagwood” Steele of Falkville and Franklin “Bill” Steele of Speake; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Joey Wood, Shane Wood, Jeremy Atkins, Allen Shadix, Chris Gardner and Doug Harris.
