Funeral for Luvina Shoemaker, 96, of Falkville, was Tuesday, July 7, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Pearl Jenkins officiating.
Burial was in Roundtop Cemetery in Falkville.
Mrs. Shoemaker died Sunday, July 5, 2009, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born August 12, 1912, in Morgan County to George Frank Yates and Jessie Summerford Yates. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Shoemaker and two sisters, Fay McLamb and Ruth Staples.
She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Smith and husband Doyle of Danville, Jessie Barkley of California; a sister, Gracie Penn of Falkville; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Richard Simmons, David Streling, Ron Stephenson, Joey Harville, Chris Jones and Zac Stephenson.
