James Hershel Burks

Funeral for James Hershel Burks, 83, of Moulton, was Friday, July 24, at 12 noon at Peck Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mr. Burks died Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at his residence. He was born May 21, 1926, in Walker County to John Hill Burks and Lena Flossie Webb Burks. He was a welder and a member of the Holy Church of Christ in Moulton. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harlon J. Burks and Harlston W. Burks.
He is survived by his wife, Stelleen Sargent Burks of Moulton; a son, James Roger Burks of Moulton; three daughters, Alberta Glasscock of Hartselle, Delilah Darlene Peed of Vinemont and Janet DarNell Carpenter of Nitrate City; a sister, Helen Burks Carrington of California; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Van Glasscock, Jamie Carpenter, Jason Adams, Marvin Nelms, Dale Parker and Timmy Terry.
