Funeral for John H. Smith, 71, of Eva, was Friday, July 24, at 2 p.m. at Eva United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brady McCullough and Bro. Al Dean officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Eva Cemetery.
Mr. Smith died Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born August 30, 1937, in Etowah County to Tommy L. Smith and Eathul Roper Smith. He was a member of Eva United Methodist Church and Eva Volunteer Fire Department. He and his wife owned John’s Garden Center in Eva. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Cecil Smith; and in-laws Comer and Thelma Livingston.
He is survived by his wife, Dot L. Smith of Eva; a brother, Russell Smith of Cullman; a sister, Helen Clutts of Harvest; five nephews, six nieces; and 13 great-nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Donnie Smith, Mike Corley, Clayton Earwood, Jason Page, Bobby Nethery and Patrick Clutts.
