James Louis Story

A graveside service for James Louis Story, 92, of Augusta, Ga., was Saturday, August 1, at 1 p.m. at Hartselle Memory Gardens with Peck Funeral Home directing. Chance &Hydrick Funeral Directors handled arrangements in Augusta.
Mr. Story died Thursday, July 30, 2009, at The Place at Martinez Ga. He was born April 20, 1917, to Richard Eugene Story and Vera Dean Story. He retired in 1982 from Dunlop Tire &Rubber Co. in Huntsville. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Augusta and was a longtime Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Margaret Elaine Slate Story; two brothers, Paul Story and Gene Story, both of Pell City; a sister, Peggy Ruple of Pell City; three sons, James W. Story of The Villages, Fla., Richard E. Story of Hartselle and Carleton A. Story of Pooler, Ga.; five grandchildren, Stephen Story of Grovetown, Ga., Daniel Story of Lugoff, S.C., Ricky Story and Darren Story, both of Hartselle and Carol Medlin of Dahlonega, Ga.; and three great-grandchildren.
