Calhoun changes work schedule
By Staff
On the heels of the successful pilot of a four-day work week this summer, Calhoun Community College officials will go to a four-and-a-half day schedule beginning Aug. 24, the first day of fall classes for the college.
The decision to move to a four-and-a-half day schedule this fall was reached after the college conducted a cost analysis of energy savings during the five-week pilot of this summer’s altered schedule which showed a savings of close to $40,000 in energy costs.
In order to accommodate student needs, the college’s Financial Aid and Admissions offices at both campuses will remain open until 6 p.m., Monday – Thursday. Additionally, the new schedule will not change evening or weekend class schedules. Work hours on the new schedule will be 7:45 a.m. – 5:15 p.m., Monday – Thursday and 7:45 – 11:45 a.m. on Fridays. Evening and weekend classes/office hours will remain as previously scheduled.
