Funeral for Doris Key Flowers McAnalley, 73, of Hart-selle was Sunday, August 9, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Albert Dean Estes and Don Gentry and Chaplain William Simmons officiating.
Burial was in Etha Baptist Church Cemetery at Eva.
Mrs. McAnalley died Friday, August 7, 2009, at her residence. She was born Feb. 16, 1936, in Morgan County to William Curtis Key and Sue Bert Hill Key. She was retired, after 43 years of service as an executive secretary, from Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Fredrick Tanner Sr.; her second husband James “Jim” Flowers; and a son, Fred Tanner.
She is survived by her longtime friend and companion, L.D. “Mac” McAnalley of Hartselle; two sons, Mike Flowers and wife, Laura Ann and Steve Flowers, both of Decatur; a daughter, Lisa Jones and husband Rick of Decatur; a daughter-in-law, Babs Tanner of Decatur; a stepdaughter, Julie Deuel and husband David of Hartselle; two brothers, Lewis Key of Decatur and Carlton Key of Trinity; two sisters, Barbara Lindsey of Hulaco and Shelby Terry of Trinity; eight grandchildren, Eric Tanner of Harvest, Kimberly Tanner Walker, Travis Tanner, Zac Tanner, James Flowers, Lauren Flowers Baker and Cherra Shows, all of Decatur, and Crystal Deuel of Hartselle; five great-grandchildren, Riley and Haley Tanner of Harvest and Cole and Jayla Shows and Heavenly Twente, all of Decatur; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were James Scott, David Deuel, Travis Tanner, Zac Tanner, Eric Tanner and Bob Mullins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Amedisys Hospice Services, 5767 Cove Commons Drive, Brownsboro, AL 35741.
