Funeral for Ruth Nunn Gay, 81, of Hartselle was Monday, August 10, at 11 a.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Decatur with Pastor Eddie Scheler officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Herring Cemetery.
Mrs. Gay died Thursday, August 6, 2009, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born October 6, 1927, in Morgan County to Henry G. Nunn and Maude Fitzgerald Nunn. She was retired from the Madison County school system as a teacher. She taught at West Morgan High School, Bob Jones High School, Grace Baptist School and the Lurleen Wallace Center. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church for 39 years.
She is survived by her husband, Edgar M. Gay; two daughters, Katherine Gay Earnest of Decatur and Brenda Gail Hatcher and husband Allan of Damascus, MD; a brother, Samuel Nunn of Hartselle; a sister, LaVerne Stacks of Hartselle; two granddaughters; two grandsons; and a great-granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Building Fund.
