Funeral for Gladys Speake Glasscock, 93, of Hartselle was Tuesday, August 18, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jeff Redmond officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mrs. Glasscock died Monday, August 17, 2009, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born October 15, 1915, in Morgan County to Fred M. Speake and Vera Speake. She was the oldest member of First Baptist Church of Hartselle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Van Glasscock. She was the recepient of the Thomas M. Guyton Humanitarian Award on January 16, 1992, given by the Hartselle Chamber of Commerce.
She is survived by two sons, David Glasscock and wife Margie and John Glasscock and wife Alberta, all of Hartselle; and three grandchildren, Van Glasscock, Nancy Glasscock and David Glasscock and wife Meredith, all of Hartselle.
Pallbearers were family members.
