Vaudean Nelson Phillips

A graveside service for Vaudean Nelson Phillips, 81, of Hartselle was Saturday, August 15, at 1 p.m. at Phillips Cemetery in Fayette.
Mrs. Phillips died Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at Summerford Nursing Home.
She was born December 14, 1927, in Fayette to John Nelson and Essie Kizzire Nelson. She was a charter member of Southside Baptist Church in Fayette. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.J. Phillips; two brothers, Jack Nelson and James Nelson; and a sister, Lorene Terry.
She is survived by a son, Phil J. Phillips and wife Wanda of Hartselle; two granddaughters, Wendy Burton and husband Larry of Collinsville, Miss. and Beth Phillips of McCalla; a great-granddaughter, Alex Turberville of Collinsville, Miss.; a brother, Grady Nelson and wife Sue of Hammond, La.; two sisters, Martha Essary of Vernon and Connie Duckworth of Atlanta, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
The family requests memorials be made to Westmeade Baptist Church in Decatur or to Southside Baptist Church in Fayette.
