Funeral for Michael A. Mize, 65, of Hartselle, was Sunday, August 23, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dan Compton officiating.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Mize died Friday, August 21, 2009, at Huntsville Hospital. He was retired from TVA where he was a security supervisor.
He was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Police and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Avery Mize and a brother, Shelby Mize.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Mize; two sons, Michael B. Mize and wife Tiffany of Camp Hill and John Mize and wife Sarah of Hartselle; his mother, Shirley J. Mize of Decatur; a brother, Terry Mize and wife Linda of Decatur; a sister, Linda Little and husband Joe of Anniston; and a granddaughter, Laura Avery Mize.
Pallbearers were nephews, Russell Ellis, Mark Mize, Rodney Ellis, Scott Ellis, Brian Ellis and Clay Compton.
