Funeral for Wanda Roberts Harris, 57, of Falkville, will be Thursday (today), September 3, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Danny Garrison and Larry Janns officiating.
Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery in Falkville.
Mrs. Harris died Tuesday, September 1, 2009, at her residence. She was born December 15, 1951, in Etowah. She grew up in Kalamazoo, Mich. and then returned to Alabama in 1969. She loved God, family and her country. She was very proud of her military family members. She was a founding member of Christ Fellowship Church of God in Hartselle under the direction of Pastor Danny and Katrina Garrison. She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Roberts of Decatur, Mich. and her grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. Johnnie C. Roberts of Danville.
She is survived by her husband, Johnnie Harris of Falkville, two sons, Joe Harris and Alan Harris, both of Hartselle; two daughters, Cindy Johns and husband Talton of Falkville and Amanda Dougherty and husband Todd of Decatur; her mother, Geraldine Martin Gilmore of Mich.; her stepfather, Ken Gilmore of Mich.; a brother, Wayne Roberts and wife Julie of Kalamazoo, Mich.; four sisters, Dorthy Millard and husband Ed of Diamond City, Ill., Fran Shank and husband Scott of Kalamazoo, Mich., Brenda Smithsaw and husband Greg of Hartselle and Robin Elliott of Arley; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Scott Shank Jr., Ryan Shank, Josh Halbrooks, Michael Elliott, Justin Roberts, Jordan Roberts and Wyatt Millard.
