Taylor, Tanksley wed
Kristen Leigh Taylor of Enterprise and James Hampton Tanksley of Hartselle were married July 18, 2009, at West Hartselle Baptist Church in Hartselle.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Duane E. Taylor of Enterprise. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory L. Tanksley of Hartselle.
The Rev. Jack Redfearn Jr. performed the 4 p.m. ceremony.
The bride was escorted by her father, a retired U.S. Army chief warrant officer 3.
She wore a formal designer gown of white re-embroidered Alencon lace with pearl and crystal beading detail. The strapless A-line gown featured a soft sweetheart neckline with a natural waistline and swept to a chapel train.
Her fingertip mantilla veil of French illusion was edged in matching Alencon lace, with pearl and crystal detailing. She carried an assortment of hand-tied white roses.
She wore a diamond pendant necklace from her late grandmother, Betty Lou Gour of Bowling Green, Ky.
She wore the wedding band and engagement ring of her late grandmother, Annie Lee Taylor of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.
Matron of honor was Sarah Wright Downey of Tampa, Fla.
Maid of honor was Angela McCabe of Atlanta.
Bridesmaids were Meghan Tanksley Knight of Gulf Shores, sister of the groom; Laura Stover and Shea Strickland, both of Atlanta; Jordan Smith of Nashville; and Kathryn Dickerson McCain of Pelham.
The groom’s father served as best man.
Groomsmen were Robert Ellis of Bowling Green, Ky., brother of the bride; Kyle Knight of Gulf Shores; Wes Orr and Logan Whitlow, both of Hartselle; and Tarleton Pike and Rob Burns, both of Tuscaloosa.
Music was provided by pianist Ellen Bean.
Program attendants were Amanda Hampton and Zac Stringer, cousins of the groom, both of Hartselle.
Amy Robinson and Cherie King directed the wedding.
A reception followed at the Princess Theatre Center for the Performing Arts, with music provided by the band Easy Street of Bowling Green, Ky.
Following a wedding trip to St. Lucia, they live in Hartselle.
