Slaten, Nelson to wed
Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Van Slaten of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Kimberly Dawn Slaten, to Jason Howard Nelson of Trussville, son of Bill Nelson of Eva and the late Nelda Cobbs Nelson.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Ruby Boyer and the late Robert Lee Boyer of Hartselle and the late Oscar and Beatrice Slaten of Decatur. A graduate of Hartselle High School, she is also a graduate of the European School of Esthetics in Huntsville.
The future groom is the grandson of the late Earl and Prudie Cobbs of Eva and the late Lee Roy and Ivory Bell Nelson of Eva.
A graduate of A.P. Brewer High School, he is also a graduate of Auburn University with a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering.
The wedding is planned for Nov. 14, 2009, at First United Methodist Church in Hartselle.
Wood, Evans to wed
Sam and Judi Wood of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Brittany Bates Wood, to Chase Daniel Evans, son of Butch and Karen Evans of Trussville.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Al and Rita Ruscilli of Sun City, Fla., Jeanette Wood of Hartselle and the late Donald Wood of Gun- tersville.
She is a graduate of Hartselle High School and Auburn University where she received a degree in biosystems engineering. She is a member of the American Society of Agriculture and Biological Engineers, Society of Women Engineers and Sigma Kappa sorority.
She is employed as a water resource specialist at Amec Earth and Environment in Hoover.
The future groom is the grandson of Tom and Barbara Evans of Pell City and Jim and Helen Daniel of Trussville.
He is a graduate of Hewitt Trussville High School and is employed by Evans Meat.
The wedding is planned for Oct. 24, 2009, at Sonnet House in Leeds.
