Funeral for Milton Sharp, 82, of Somerville was Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 2 p.m. at Valhermoso Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Manly officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Gum Springs Cemetery in Hartselle.
Mr. Sharp died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Jan. 25, 1927, in Morgan County to Morris Clinton Sharp and Hessie Vinola McGee Sharp. He was a member of Valhermoso Springs Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II where he served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Mae Stinson Sharp.
He is survived by three sons, Roger Sharp of Lacey’s Spring, Bobby Sharp and wife Teresa of Hartselle and Danny Sharp of Albertville; a daughter, Toni Couey and husband Michael of Hartselle; a sister, Geraldine Sivley; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Sharp’s Sunday School Class and the liar’s table at Jack’s.
