Commission appoints four to PP&R board

The State Products Mart Authority will have to wait at least a couple of weeks longer than anticipated to acquire title to the Southeastern Arena in Priceville because the Morgan County Commission was unable to fill all five seats on the newly authorized Public Park and Recreation Board at its meeting on Tuesday.
Recommendations for appointees were made by Commission Chairman John Glasscock and Commissioners Jeff Clark, Ken Livingston and Greg Abercrombie. Subsequently, they were approved; however, a seat was left vacant after District 3 Commissioner Don Stisher reported that the candidate he was going to recommend removed his name at the last minute.
The board will have responsibility for management of the arena.
