Priceville no match for Columbia passing attack

PRICEVILLE - Priceville’s losing streak grew to six with a 44-0 loss to Columbia Thursday in a game that was originally scheduled for Friday.
The game was moved Thursday morning to avoid bad weather conditions Friday.
Corey Collier threw a pair of touchdown passes for the Blazers, while Kevin Stewart ran for two more scores in the win.
Priceville fell to 0-5 in Class 4A, Region 7 play. The Bulldogs have scored just 14 points in their last three games.
Columbia improved to 1-4 in the region and 2-5 overall with the win.
The Blazers have won two of their last three games since opening the season with four straight losses.
Donovan Coleman caught a touchdown pass from Collier and Antonio Davis ran eight yards for another score as Columbia posted a 16-0 halftime lead.
Columbia broke the game open with 28 points in the second half.
D.J. Moss capped the scoring with a 40-yard interception return.
Davis and Stewart combined for 289 yards on the ground.
Priceville will wrap up region play this week at Douglas.
Pleasant Grove 58, Brewer 14
Pleasant Grove exploded for 37 points in the second quarter Friday night to hand Brewer a 58-14 loss in Class 5A, Region 7 play.
The Spartans’ defense and special teams scored three touchdowns to help Pleasant Grove power past Brewer on the road.
Pleasant Grove scored on a kickoff return, two Ben Wheeler touchdown passes, a safety, an interception return and a blocked punt that was returned for another score.
Brewer dropped to 0-7 with the loss. The Patriots are 0-6 in region play.
Pleasant Grove improved to 3-4 overall with the win.
Wheeler finished with three touchdown passes - a pair of 8-yarders to Mike McGrue, and a 16-yarder to Chris Ervin.
Pleasant Grove added to the lead in the third quarter when Terrell Daniels picked up a Brewer fumble and went 32 yards for another score.
Clint Crumpton capped the scoring with a 38-yard touchdown run midway through the final quarter.
