Funeral for Beecher Geer Jr., 74, of Falkville was Sunday, Oct. 18, at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Partridge officiating.
Burial was in Cooper Cemetery.
Mr. Geer died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born July 23, 1935, in Tennessee to Beecher Geer and Mattie Lee Jordan Geer. He was a 30-year member of Labors International Union Local 366 and worked at Marshall Space Flight Center from 1982 until he retired in 1999. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Aaron Geer; stepfather, Joe Hollaway; and a stepbrother, Tommy Hollaway.
He is survived by his wife, Claries Locke Geer of Falkville; three daughters, Carol Higdon and husband Loyd of Decatur, June Lawrimore and husband Ray and Mary Hickey and husband Dan, all of Falkville; two sons, Thomas Geer and wife Peggy of Hartselle and Terry Geer of Falkville; three brothers, Bill Geer and wife Loraine of Tennessee, Bob Geer and wife Judy of Canton, Ohio and Gerald Geer of Chicago, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Cynthia Geer of Ohio; five grandchildren, Chris Higdon, Steven Geer, Melissa Geer, Daron Hickey and Emmalee Hickey; four great-grandchildren, Cassandra Cooper, Carolyn Higdon, Nessa Higdon and Ian Park; a stepsister, Ruth Jones of Cedar Mt., Tenn.; and a countless number of extended children and grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons and nephews.
