Funeral for Bessie J. Ward, 75, of Danville was Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Vann Wray officiating.
Burial was in Mount Tabor Cemetery.
Mrs. Ward died Sunday, October 18, 2009, at her residence. She was born September 19, 1934, in Limestone County to Audie L. Collins and Ruby Lee Patterson Collins. She was a housewife and a wonderful mother. She read the Bible everyday, had a really strong faith and was a Baptist. Her daughter always told her she hoped that someday she would be as good a person as her. She was loved by her family and all who knew her.
She is survived by a daughter, Martha Lyell of Danville; a son, James A. Ward of Hartselle; a sister, Sherbie Slaughter of Cullman; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Holden and Addie Carol Copeland; and four great-grandchildren, Wesley, Nick, Brooke, and Alexander.
Pallbearers were Wesley Patterson, Nick Simmons, Bobby Couch, Dwight Standridge, Paul Atkins and Joe Slate.
