Funeral for Movaline Goree Smith, 84, of Somerville was Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m. at Somerville United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Walker officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Smith died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born March 6, 1925, in Lawrence County to Elmer Goree and Leona Lynn Goree. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend and will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Asa Brandon Smith; her parents; four brothers, Ottis, Lloyd, Talmadge and Odell Goree; and two sisters, S.T. Wade and Lola Mooneyham.
She is survived by three sons, Dana Hal Smith of Somerville, Howard Brandon Smith and wife Grace of Adamsville and Rodger Phillip Smith and wife Lydia of Florette; a sister, Eula Goree Speed; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
