Conner, Orr wed Aug. 22
Stefanie Dee Conner of Decatur and John Wesley Orr of Hartselle were wed Aug. 22, 2009, at First Methodist Church of Hartselle.
The bride is the daughter of Lance and Teresa Conner of Decatur. The groom is the son of John Patton and Candy Orr of Hartselle.
The wedding was performed by Bill Nelson.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents.
The bride wore a formal gown of soft ivory lace, adorned with silver embroidery, over satin. The strapless gown was fashioned with a modified sweetheart neckline edged in silver embroidery and miniature silver glass beads.
The slim fitting sheath style gown flared to a gentle fullness from the knee and featured a chapel train.
Her walking length veil of silk English net was generously detailed around the border with an intricate sterling silver floral and leaf embroidery. Seed pearls garnished the delicate embroidery.
She carried a bouquet of vibrant tropical-colored roses adorned with rhinestones with touches of traditional white flowers.
Leslie Conner, the bride’s sister, of Decatur, was matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Lurie Hallford, groom’s sister, of Pike Road; Jennifer Cotton of Corner, Kerrie Heflin of Orlando, Fla., Lindsey Doss of Decatur and Crystal Roberts of Hartselle.
Carden and Raegan Orr of Rome, Ga. were flower girls.
The groom’s father was best man.
Groomsmen were Hamp Tanksley of Hartselle, Bud Glasscock of Hartselle, John David Orr Sr. of Hartselle, Wes Bryan of Elkton, Tenn., and James Hallford of Pike Road. Ushers were Allan Orr of Rome, Ga., Cooper Vines of Birmingham and Will Vines of Montgomery.
Jackson Orr of Rome, Ga. and John David Orr Jr. of Hartselle distributed the programs.
Jay Hallford, the groom’s nephew, of Pike Road, was ring bearer.
Ellen Bean was pianist and Randy Sparkman played the violin at the ceremony.
The reception was held at the church’s ministry center.
Reception attendants were Larry and Dottie Vines, Randy and Cathy Hampton, Susan Conner, Dawn Conner, Carol Holladay, Stacy Meredith, Cara Randolph, Rita Roberts, Norma Penn, Denise Burchell, Sis McCaghren, Laura Clemons, Sunny Conner and Ali Ferrell.
Mary Orr and Amy Robinson directed the wedding.
Sunny Conner and Ali Ferrell attended the gift registry. Daniel Orr of Hartselle distributed birdseed.
